Speeds of top Ciphers?
How fast are each of the most widely used block ciphers? This includes Rijndael, Twofish, Serpent, MARS, RC4, as well as any other prominent ones that I’m missing. I’m looking for whichever one would be fastest for a Fortuna PRNG.
Let’s say it is implemented in software. I think that they will be pretty much the same relative speeds for just about any software implementation, as long as they are all implemented using the same programming language. But let’s say the processor is an Intel Dual Core 2.5 GHz processor, and the programs are implemented with C.
That depends entirely on the implentation and hardware.
